Founded in 1862, Sato Kogyo traces its roots to one of the oldest turnkey contractors in Japan.
Since its humble beginnings, Sato Kogyo has evolved into an international success story - having accomplished numerous building and civil engineering projects of varying nature, magnitude and complexity in Asia, Africa, Middle East, Europe and North America.
In 1972, the firm recognised the growing construction activities in the Asia Pacific region and spread its wings beyond the shores of Japan. Expanding rapidly in response to its success, Sato Kogyo sets up strategic offices in Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok, Phnom Penh and Yangon to capture the emerging markets.
Sato Kogyo’s Singapore Office, which has evolved into Regional Headquarters in 2002, is underpinned by two key divisions, each with specific focus on building and infrastructure developments. The Singapore Office has been able to cater to a broad spectrum of consumer needs, ranging from high-tech industrial facilities, iconic commercial buildings and prestigious institutional landmarks to roads, viaducts, bridges, rail infrastructures and tunnels.
Sato Kogyo has been accorded with the highest rank of Grade A1 in both building and civil engineering categories by the Building and Construction Authority, giving the Company full eligibility to undertake projects of unlimited contract value based on its sound financial standing and technical competence.
